The interface is meant to get out of your way so that you can focus on what’s really important: your creativity. The interface is designed in such a way that beginners won’t feel like there is a barrier to creating their first animations, and more advanced animators can create stunning works of art with Animate’s powerful toolkit.
Animation Timeline
The timeline allows you to make animations using both keyframe and frame-by-frame approaches. You can draw your content frame-by-frame, and then use concepts such as Animated Symbols, Cycles, Tweens, and more to modify them even more.
By dragging along the top of the timeline, you can scrub through your animation to get a preview of your work. And at any time, you can click the play button for instant playback of your animation in real time.
Scene Manager / Symbol Library / Audio Library
The Scene Manager allows you to break down you animation into different scenes so they are easier to organize.
The Symbol Library allows you to create reusable symbols, which is great for using repetitive elements throughout your animation.
And the Audio Library is where you can import audio files to be used for sound effects, background music, or lip syncing.
Tweening and Cycles
Tweening allows you to automate motion between two keyframes. Currently the properties that can be tweened are position, opacity, and adjustment layer values.
Cycles are another great way to simplify the animation process. Instead of drawing the same action over and over, you can use cycles to repeat a range of keyframes multiple times.
Export to multiple formats
Animate allows you to export your animation in multiple file formats such as MP4, MOV, GIF, and Image Sequence to easily share your animations with others or integrate them into your multimedia projects.
